Employing the same safety philosophy as the Surface Annulus Safety systems, PTC has developed a VR profile pressure and temperature sensor.

The sensor enjoys the same advantage as the valve systems; in that knocking off the external electronic section, the plug itself will stay inside the wellhead or x-mas tree and form a fire and pressure safe plug.

The system comes in two versions:

• Wired version, normally Hart® 4-20 mA
• Wireless version, normally WirelessHart®

When combined with our M-SAS or H-SAS technology, the system can be used to automatically manage MAASP's on the A, B and C annuli.
