The M-SAS-CIV (check valve) module replaces the NPT chemcial injection line connection arrangement, which is in common use where the injection line penetrates the X-mas tree.

The SAS-CIV will retain full well integrity, even in the event of breaking feed lines or failed downhole CIV,thus eliminating a potential very weak link in the secondary well containment envelope.

This is especially important given that ( unless the PTC downhole chemical injection valve is used) the downhole chemical injection valve is often a weak link in the primary containment envelope.

The actuator module (M), is required to ensure the valve can always be opened, independent of chemical injection pump capabilities. The actuator module is designed to disconnect from the SAS-CIV in the event that it is struck by a falling object, leaving the SAS-CIV in the closed position within the VR profile.
